Some useful rubrics

Checklist for evaluating Reusable learning object's

Take these factors into account when deciding whether or not to choose to use a particular RLO.

1. Quality, is it of high quality, for example can it be seen to be peer-reviewed, or failing that is the rating on it 4 or 5 stars? They are usually rated by educators so this would showcase quality. Checking up on the author is also another good way.

2. Does it cover what you want it to cover, does it cover the subject in the detail required. In other words, does it fulfil the learning outcome you want it to? Make sure when looking for an RLO you have a clear idea what you want it to do.

3. How malleable is it? Can you easily customise it to suit what you think is needed and what level your students are currently at to suit them. Check the license as well to see if this is allowed.

4. How accessible is it? Are there options for  differently abled people such as narration? On another level is it easy for all students to understand regardless of skill level. Technical skills involved.

5. Does it promote deep learning for example critical thinking skills?
