They are numerous types of RLOs available.

Below are some types and where to find examples of them. 

Open course ware

Open course-ware refers to instances where higher education Institution decide to put all course materials online and allow anyone to use them for their own learning. You can point students towards specific courses and content that you think may be useful for study or increasing their understanding around a topic. It also allows you look at the structures and approaches other academics are taking and to learn from it. 

Open textbooks

Open textbooks are simply textbooks that have an open licence. An open licence means that they are free to use and reuse.  they are also usually available at minimal or no cost. They could be used to replace the usually high cost of normal textbooks. 

Free to use images

There is a huge number of sites that offer access to image that are completely free to use. Check them out below. 

Free to use videos

Videos from most video sharing sites can be used in class. 

If you are interested in creating your own RLOs you can take stock image from various sites as well for free. Just check the licenses. 

Reusable learning object repositories

RLO repositories provide a similar experience to google that are limited OERs they can be searched similar to a web search engine and can use similar tips as seen in where to find RLOs page.
