Google Scholar

Google Scholar looks and feels like Google Search, but the results are different because it searches scholarly papers instead of general websites.

You can link Google Scholar to DkIT Library's resources to make it easier to find material we subscribe to.
To do this in Google Scholar, click Settings, then click Library links. Type in "Dundalk Institute of Technology" and click the Search icon. DkIT should appear in the list. Put a tick beside it and click Save.

Definition

The Cambridge English dictionary defines a dissertation/thesis as a major piece of work based in one subject which is usually done to achieve a degree in an academic setting.

Dissertations may encompass research that has not been formally published yet.  They are usually not available as formally published works for some time after completion and then are published in an abridged form, so that some of the detail that can be found in the original may be missing.

Get it from another library!

Need a theses or dissertation that's not in the Library?

Search the collections that are featured in this guide.

You also might be able to find and read some of them online using Google Books.

Alternatively you could make an interlibrary loan request and we'll request it from another library or institution for you.
