Statistics: Sources of Statistics

Official collector of statistics for the Irish Government. The Central statistics Office (CSO) is responsible for the Census, House Hold Budget Survey and unemployment statistics.

The ESRI produces research that contributes to understanding economic and social change in the new international context and that informs public policymaking and civil society in Ireland.

The Central Bank is obliged to collect and publish statistics relating to financial regulation and banking. Beacuse of its role in economic policy it also gathers and analyses data on the economy in general, including compeditiveness indicators, data on exchange rates, mortgages and lending.

It is a portal for data on Irish society and drawns information from the CSO and other collectors. Well worth visiting if you have any kind of social statistic need.
