Slievefoye Active Learning Lab

The Slievefoye Active Learning Lab is a collaborative classroom suitable for teaching/training. It is also facilitates hybrid teaching.

Equipment includes: Windows presenter PC, presenter laptop input, WolfVision system for projection/casting to screens in room, ceiling camera + mics + speakers, 24 laptops + space for an additional 6 people.

This lab is available to DkIT staff members who require a collaborative lab/classroom environment. The room can be booked directly for up to two hours per day, and up to two months in advance. To enquire about longer bookings email informationskills@dkit.ie

Terms, Conditions and Booking

  • Important! The projection setup is different to most rooms/labs. If you need to display content on the main screen you will need to be familiar with the setup. A 1-page guide is included with the user guides linked to further down this page. At a minimum, please read this 1-page guide.
  • The room's full collaborative functionality is detailed in the full user guide, also included in the guides further down this page. You can arrange to visit the room when it is free to test your setup.
  • Any technical issues may require you to log a helpdesk ticket with Computer Services. This might take time to resolve, depending on their availability. Library staff are unable to provide technical support but please let us know if there are issues so that we can inform the next presenter.
  • Switch off all screens and shut down laptops before you leave the room.
  • The Library has priority booking of this learning space. 
  • Staff and students will need to scan their ID cards to access the library.
  • If the room is locked please enquire at the Library Information Desk.
  • The Slievefoye Room is located on Floor 2, which is a silent study area. Please remind your group of this when entering and leaving the room.
  • Desks and laptops are fixed in place. The room is not a suitable general meeting space.
  • Due to the equipment present, this lab is not suitable for catering of any kind.
