Planning and Booking your Library Visit: Onsite Access

Current DkIT students & staff can avail of study spaces without pre booking. However PCs must still be pre booked due to the limited number available.

Book a Group Study Room

Click here to book a group study room

  1. Select date & time
  2. Click on Search
  3. Choose one by clicking on "Book Now"
  4. Login with your Institutional username and password
    • your student number & the password for your student account
  5. Complete the form (first name, surname and student email address)
  6. Agree to Terms & Conditions
  7. Click on Submit my Booking
  8. Go to the library desk at the appointed time 
  9. Room key will be issued when you present your Student Card ID or the Library app
    Oriel Bookable Spaces

Book a space for your group in the Oriel Room.

The Oriel is a shared group study area. There are tables for four groups, three people per group. You don't have to book but if someone else books the space when you are using it, you will have to vacate.

Book an Accessible Study Space

  • Click here to book an accessible study space.
  • These are wheelchair-friendly height adjustable desks, located in and to either side of the Quiet Study Area on Floor 2.
  • Enter the time and date of your booking, and click on 'search'.
  • Select your booking by clicking on 'book now'.
  • Log in with your DkIT username and password.
  • Enter your details. You must enter your DkIT student email address.
  • You will receive booking confirmation to your student email.

Book a PC

  1. Select the location you require:
    • e.g. First Floor
  2. Click "Show Availability"
  3. Select a date and time for your visit
  4. Click on "Submit Time"
  5. A Booking details page with the terms and conditions of use presents and you need to familiarise yourself with these 
  6. Click on "Continue"
  7. Enter your Name and DkIT email address
  8. Your booking will be approved automatically and you will receive a booking confirmation to your email address
  9. Go to library at appointed time 

 

Conditions of library usage

  • Access to PCs and Study Rooms is available to DkIT students only
  • Water is allowed but no food, tea, coffee etc.
  • Noise level must be kept to a minimum
  • For room bookings, keys must be collected at the Issue Desk within 10 minutes of the start of the booking: 
    • failure to turn up on time will result in the booking being cancelled and the room being made available to other students
    • repeated no shows may result in the ability to book rooms being withdrawn.
