The student Health Service provides on-campus medical care to full time registered students and Apprentices in the Institute in a confidential, professional and courteous manner.
All full time students and Apprentices have access to the Health Unit free of charge.
The Student Health Unit operates a walk in clinic where students are allocated a time to be seen on a “First come First Served” basis. Our Triage nurses will provide an initial assessment and referral into the doctor if necessary.
Please note, The Health Unit is not a replacement for a students own General Practitioner ( G.P.). The services provided are as follows:

ANY MEDICAL EMERGENCY WILL BE GIVEN PRIORITY.
For students who have ongoing illness or chronic conditions they must see their own Doctor.
If you do not have a doctor you can register with a doctor in the local area. (A list of doctors is available at the Student Health Unit)

Out of Hours Doctor
Students requiring emergency medical care out of hours and at weekends can access the EMERGENCY MEDICAL CLINIC at a fee of €50. The Doctor on Call at the clinic will advise of location. The above fee does not apply to E.U./ Erasmus students on presentation of an E.U. card.
