Reusable learning objects (RLOs): Where to find reusable learning objects? (RLOs)

A complete guide to rlos that can be used in your classes.

How to look for Reusable learning objects? (RLOs)

How to search for RLOs:

1. On any of the sites listed below go to the Advanced search option

2. Break down what you want to search into keywords thinking of the various ways to describe them. For example, if you want RLOs around string theory in physics you could break this down into singular words and use variant spellings or ways to refer to string theory in your discipline.

3. Combine different terms and put them in the text box and see what you find. If you think you are getting too few  results broaden the search using more general terms for example just physics.  If you are getting too many results you can break it down using more specific search terms, a particular type of string theory.

4. There are also what are called delimiters on the side, if you use these you can limit it to a particular type of  RLO for example a video or presentation as well as the year it was produced meaning you can limit it down to exactly what you need.

If you can’t find what you are looking for try using the broad subject delimiter to look for the generic subject area.
